Concert by the Pier

Music By: Steady Holiday & Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Enjoy the sunset on the beach with family and friends while listening to Steady Holiday and Unknown Mortal Orchestra indie rock bands. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a picnic on the beach and enjoy the warm Santa Monica weather.

First Friday’s Venice

7:00 pm on Abbot Kinney Blvd, Venice

Come enjoy the best food trucks in Los Angeles this Friday on Abbot Kinney Boulevard. The mac and cheese grilled cheese do not disappoint. For more information, click here.

Showtime’s Eat | See | Hear Outdoor Movie Series

7:00 pm Santa Monica High School on 601 Pico Blvd

Showtime presents Eat|See|Hear, a summer-long celebration of food, music & movies presented by SHOWTIME! Events take place at Santa Monica High School located at 601 Pico Blvd (entrance on 4th St.) and will include food trucks and a musical guest.

Doors open at 5:30 pm with live music starting at 7:00 pm and movie at 8:30 pm. Admission is $14. Check website for movie lineup

First Friday’s Yoga at Create

1pm-8pm 2828 Santa Monica Blvd, Santa Monica 90404

First Friday events at creating a tribute for the love of the community, local businesses. Attendance to the event is free, but encouraged to donate to charity. Start your long weekend off right with a relaxing and invigorating yoga class.

Run Pack with Crossfit Sandbox

Grab your pups and join us for a Run Pack. We will be training for the upcoming Race for the Rescues 5k & 10K and are looking for recruits to join team Healthy Spot.

A CrossFit Sandbox instructor will be leading you and your dogs through some exercises meant to prepare you for the upcoming marathon. We will be meeting at Healthy Spot Santa Monica and jogging over to a nearby park. You and your dog will run through some warm-ups and then some drills.

Labor Day Olympics

9:00 am-12:00 pm meet at Santa Monica Pier

Come to Santa Monica Beach on September 3rd for some fun in the sun and friendly competition for a chance to win a free vacation! Labor Day Olympics will be a blast that you and your friends can come to play beach volleyball, spike ball, beach soccer and more. Assemble a team of 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and be ready to record all of the festivities. The best videos will win vacation prizes. Meet by the volleyball courts near the pier at around 9:00 am to give out instructions as far as how to play, and how to win. They are bringing Rio to Santa Monica so bring your A-game!

Run + Yoga

Santa Monica Pier – 8:00 am

Get fit with this free workout class held every Saturday morning. Meet at 8:00 am under the Santa Monica Pier sign at the top of the ramp on Colorado and Ocean for a 2-5 mile run around the beach and pier. At 9:00 am, pick up your yoga mat and meet at the far west end of the pier. Enjoy sweeping ocean views as local yoga instructors help perfect your Downward Dog and Warrior pose. All experience levels are welcome.

Abbot Kinney Marketplace

Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice.

The Abbot Kinney Marketplace is a weekly free outdoor marketplace located on the front athletic field of Westminster Elementary. The marketplace which is organized by a family of artistic individuals was put together so that artist, designers, craftsmen, and more can come together and have a platform to sell their pieces. They also have food trucks and different dj’s who participate weekly. A percentage of the proceeds go to funding school art and after-school programs.

Labor Day Libations

Rosenthal Winery is hosting Labor Day Libations. Food trucks, Wine, DJ’s. Enjoy one of your last summer sunsets drinking rose, dancing all night, and overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

LA Times: The Taste – Sunday Block Party Brunch & BBQ

11:00 am-2:00 pm at Paramount Pictures

From September 4-6, LA Times: The Taste returns to offer Angelenos a food and drink experience unlike any other. Highlights include an opening night party on Friday, a field-to-fork midday celebration on Saturday, a Sunday brunch+bbq event, and an ethnic food ‘tour’ of some of L.A.’s finest dining spots hosted by Jonathan Gold on Sunday.
